Every holiday season, Keefe Group creates food and snack “kits” that jail and prison inmates can purchase. For years these products were professionally photographed in highly stylized vignettes. The process was costly and time consuming, and some items would have to be carefully Photoshopped in or out for one reason or another. When I took over the project, I steered clear of shooting in studio and chose to use individual product shots along with stock images, patterns and vector files. This combination was more cost effective, offered more design flexibility and was far more practical for incorporating last-minute changes.
